Local man gets 'Best Actor' award

LEWISTON, ID - Chaske Spencer, a Clearwater Valley High graduate, plays the role of a modern day Native American in the independent film "Shouting Secrets." Last month's American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco garnered Spencer his award as well as Best Film for "Shouting Secrets." Spencer said he's shocked by the acting accolade and happy to move beyond his Twilight fame.
"I'm always grateful for Twilight for pretty much giving me a career and helping put my name on the map," said Spencer. "But branching away from that is really liberating."
"Shouting Secrets" follows the story of a family that's reunited when their mother falls ill. It's not yet been released.
