Have you done something in your neighborhood for being the shift?

I've helped picked up trash in my community at my current High school to keep the campass clean. I'm in a Service Learning class and me and my classmates picked up trash outside the school to keep it clean. I've learned that service learning is all about how you can help your community. does that include being the shift?

I'm already member of Woman's Club which has programs for the community such as trash pick-up, volunteers reading at the primary schools, blood drive volunteers, etc. I don't live in town and closest one is 8 miles away (about 11,000 pop.) but I want to do something else. I'm in the process of seeing if a Mental Health Awareness and Support group would be a good idea for our county. Would that count?

I'm a volunteer service unit member for the Girl Scouts for my area. I help the service unit recruit girls. I go to all the schools in my area. During Girl Scout meetings I help lead the Juniors(4th, 5th graders). I know everyone thinks Girl Scouts are all about cookies! It's about encouraging girls, building selfesteem, teaching good values, bringing up future leaders I this country. The girls can earn scholorships. I'm planning to do more things soon. Does this count as being the shift?

in my service learning class my class and I are painting the picnic tables at my school that have gone rusted including the basketball goals,sweeping the sidewalks and cleaning in the gym anything to help our school look neat. I also signed up for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern New Mexico for Native American mentoring.
