Volterra
I was in Italy (its a lot closer than the US!) so we visited Volterra, we didn't have long but they were having some sort of festival, so there were lots of flags and bunting and locals dressed up in medieval costumes. Clothes and especially the leather boots were all beautiful but I guess this was Italy. I don't know if they used the real Volterra in the film, they may have done its certainly beautiful enough.
Its a strange feeling walking past a monk sitting in a bar smoking!
